BMW Oracle Wins America's Cup

In February, we were able to watch a little bit of the America's Cup in Rwanda and I have been meaning to put some articles up about it.  We feel very attached to the BMW Oracle boat since Chris (Becca's boyfriend) worked for months in San Diego and Seattle helping build this incredible machine (I don't know anything about sailing but the thing looks amazing).

Among other things, Chris helped design and build the mast that supports the 223-feet wing sail (2/3 of a football field; bigger than any airplane wing).  From what I understand this huge sail will allow the boat to essentially lift itself out of the water and travel between 30 and 40 miles per hour.  Watching it on TV you could tell this boat was really flying!

Chris is really good at what he does and also designs/builds/refurbishes wooden boats in his free time (This includes welding in shorts and flip flops).
