Iceland! Volcano! Rúntur!

Since I went to Iceland with some friends in February 2008, the small island nation has been in the news a lot.  Between the financial collapse, new government, and now the volcano paralyzing worldwide air travel, most people have learned more about Iceland than they ever thought they would.

Well, the volcano that is erupting lies under the same Eyjafjallajokull (pronounced ay-yah-FYAH'-plah-yer-kuh-duhl) Glacier that we went snowmobiling on when we were there.

While not on this glacier, my friend Morgan did break his leg on a frozen ice sheet on this trip so he spent our last night in Reykjavik in the hospital (while the rest of us went to see a movie on the volcanos of Iceland).

All in all, I highly recommend Iceland!

Hopefully things will clear up ASAP because Anne (Lucy's mother) is scheduled to leave New York on Wednesday to come visit us next week!
