On an entirely unrelated note, a recent opinion piece (NYTimes: Are Profits Hurting Capitalism?) sheds a little more light on the topic discussed in my post Restructuring Incentives in Finance. Not sure I entirely agree with the premise of the opinion piece, but we certainly are shooting ourselves in the foot by focusing on short-term results at the expense of long-term growth.
